We ran the Happiness Course at the Poole Borough offices in late 2013. When I came across the course I instinctively sensed this would be a good tool to use in our work engaging with people in the workplace. And so it has proved. 50+ people came on the course we ran at the Borough of Poole and there was great engagement with the material. The Borough Chaplain reckoned that this was the best take up of anything they have put on in recent years. The course also generated some great conversations with people at the ends of sessions, in many cases with people who wanted to talk about deeper issues of purpose and meaning. We are excited about the way forward.
We’ve run two of “The Happiness Course” so far. People enjoyed the course and got a lot out of it. Happiness is something that is relevant and attractive to everyone, regardless of age and background.
Fun, challenging, fascinating and life changing. Those on the courses have benefited significantly both personally and in their relationships with others. I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone!
It’s nice to have this paperwork to reflect on, if and when needed
It helped to confirm everything that I knew and to have faith in myself
It made me consider how to make myself more happy by just appreciating simple things in my life. It made me think about deeper things that matter in life
It made a very big difference. I’ll think more carefully about the decisions that I make and I’ll always keep in mind how these decisions can affect others
It will make a great difference to know who I am and realise the choices that I make for my own life and other people
The truth is I wasn’t expecting anything interesting. But as the session was going so I was enjoying it
I will be more aware of my personal choices and will try to concentrate more on making the difference. Thanks for making me feel welcome
Really opened my eyes to think about certain aspects of life
It was very deep and got me thinking a lot about future decisions. Thank you!
The environment was inviting and made people open to discussion
Thank you, I have taken loads of notes from you which I will reflect on in changes to my life. You explained these views very very well. Like a life coach. Thank you Andy
It has opened my eyes to things which I never thought of as consistent with happiness before
Thank you Andy for a very varied course, lots of different teaching methods, a gift to everyone who attended
Great – a fascinating, interesting, informative, meaningful course. It gave me more light and direction
It has changed my life
Brilliant. Wow! Well done! I’ll be passing on my learning to others. Thanks very much
We’ve run two “Happiness Courses” so far. People enjoyed the course and got a lot out of it. Happiness is something that is relevant and attractive to everyone, regardless of age and background. What’s particularly exciting about the material is that the research on which the course is based is providing scientific confirmation of a significant number of areas that are central to living, such as the importance of gratitude and forgiveness; the key role of relationships; the impact of having meaning and purpose beyond oneself.
The course itself has a good balance between the impartation of information; opportunities to participate in exercises; discussion; and guidance for following up outside the confines of the course evenings themselves. This balance means that people from a wide diversity of backgrounds have been able to feel engaged, and people have the option to take it as seriously (or not) as they wish.
Although it’s early days, my view is that at the very least, running the Happiness course is a way of helping people to live richer, happier lives.
