What is it?
A day workshop, exploring mental health together and discovering ways to help others to grow in wellbeing. We will go on a journey, starting from where we are at right now, via helpful (and less helpful) understandings and pathways, on to a place of effective support and growth for people grappling with their mental and emotional health.
Who’s it for?
Any group of people concerned about how to grow both their own mental health and that of others. We will address such questions as…..
- How do we provide a context for healthy living?
- What is mental health/ill health anyway?
- Is it just a matter of the individual’s health – what is the role of the community or organisation?
This workshop is a must for community groups, organisations, churches and corporations.
What’s in the course?
1. The journey begins: How am I doing?
2. Content of the journey:
- Mental health – what are we talking about?
- Mental illness – or a continuum?
3. Reality check: How is my group/community doing?
4. Making progress
- The road most travelled
- Finding a deeper way
5. Companionship for others on the journey
6. Experiencing the journey: Telling our story
7. Next steps – where do we go from here?
The workshop runs for 5 hours (plus breaks) and consists of short presentations, with opportunities to discuss and reflect together. You will take away simple models that you can start to use immediately, and strategies to share learning and practice with others in similar situations.
Cost: £400
