The story so far…
Anyone who has followed me and my work over the past few years will know about The Happiness Course. I’ve run it for over ten years in many contexts, and thousands of people have been impacted by it – “this course has changed my life!” said one person.
Since then, I have developed a number of other courses, including the Lasting Happiness Course, designed specifically for online access throughout the past year. It is a further extension of The Happiness Course, but it’s also shaped around my book, “Lasting Happiness.”

My newest course
So I’m delighted to launch my newest course, “The Well Person.” It builds on the foundations of previous courses, but aims to take things further.
Happiness, health and wellbeing are commonly used terms these days, but our pursuit of them often follows predictable lines, centring on physical health, material wealth (although no one can agree on what constitutes “enough”) and happiness-as-pleasure. All of these are valid and valuable, but are they all we need for satisfaction and lasting happiness?
Research clearly shows that two other things are essential for our happiness – healthy relationships and a sense of meaning and purpose. And both of these are under great strain in our society today.
So, what to do?
I suggest that two things are necessary…
- Focus, not just on the material dimensions, but also on the not-so-material-but-vital spheres – especially relationships, community and meaning. If all of these are functioning well, we are well on our way to lasting satisfaction
- Find a framework to connect and integrate them all together. For many of us, life is compartmentalised (all the parts boxed into sealed-off categories), fragmented (the parts are disconnected from each other) and incoherent (they don’t add up to something meaningful).
We need a way of bringing them all together, to make sense of our lives. I call this a wholistic approach, and it is precisely where The Well Person course comes in…
How does that work, then?
In the course, we explore each of the key arenas of life (physical, mental, social and spiritual), seeking to uncover what promotes wellness (or unwellness) in them. But there’s more. These areas cannot function in isolation – it is how they interconnect that brings about wellbeing.
The course is interactive, practical and enjoyable. So why not put the date in your diary – Tuesday 2nd March at 8pm (GMT) for The Well Person Taster Session – and register via my website.
