From last time…
My last post talked about The Happiness Course I ran in September in Sydenham, SE London. I’d say it was a success – but don’t take my word for it.
Here’s a taste…
…of some of the comments people wrote down (anonymously) on their evaluation forms at the end…
“I have a much clearer understanding of the different elements that make me happy and what areas I need to develop to stay happy”
“I found discussions and hearing other people’s views and perceptions the most valuable”
“The last session made me think about the legacy I will leave behind”
“The course will make a difference if I act upon it”
I always ask participants to fill out an evaluation form at the end of the course.
Amongst other questions, people are asked to answer, with a score out of ten, the following questions (where ‘10’ = strongly agree; and ‘1’ = strongly disagree).
All twelve participants filled out an evaluation.
How did they score?
Here are the average scores for three questions asked about how helpful and equipping the course had been:
Question: Average score/10:
The Happiness Course has helped me understand what affects my happiness 8.9
I now feel more equipped to grow and develop my happiness and wellbeing 8.5
The Happiness Course has influenced the way I see life 8.2
My only regret
…is that I have to say goodbye to the participants after Session 4 and don’t see them again, so it’s difficult to assess the longer-term outcomes.
On occasion, however, I do bump into someone, months or even years later, and they do tell me that the course has made a lasting difference to them.
Who knows – maybe you’ll find that too if you come to the next course!

The next course will run again in SE London in the New Year – look out for the publicity
